Aha, we’re reaping the benefits of sharing our favorite Montessori resources.  Angie just shared these sites for purchasing new materials:

Angie is getting ready to start a formal training program for Montessori educators through the North American Montessori Center.  Read about it here.

Lastly, she shared this Yahoo chat group: Montessori Material Makers.  An excellent resource!  Thanks, Angie!

I am interested in the Montessori training program. I am especially looking for classes that I can take which will fulfill my teaching license requirements. Any thoughts about this?

a distance-learning program sound like a great possibility for stay-at-home-moms. My friend Angie intends to home school, but wants a formal program to prepare her really well for that task. I’m sure she’d be happy to tell you more about this specific program after she gets into it. Are there Montessori schools where you’re living? (I’m sure there are up there) - you could go visit one and talk to the administrators for some ideas.

Lynnette, I’ve decided to hold off on the training because of the cost. I think that I need to try to figure out if I can create my own albums for a fraction of the cost and see if I feel comfortable using that.

The distance training program that Sara posted will give you certification and can be used in Montessori schools (but not AMI certified schools). I would LOVE to do it, we just have to make sure it is the best use of our resources first.
